This little spot is 60km northeast of Barcelona, to the French Border. We stayed in Roses, which is known as an important fishing port and tourist centre. Whether you're looking for sandy beaches, coves, quant villages or your more into the mountain scene, Costa Brava is the way to go. This northeast of the country overlooks the Mediterranean sea, and has pretty hot summers, and mild winters, so it's a great destination for summer getaways or holiday destinations, which is popular with many of the locals in Barcelona.
There are plenty of opportunities to play golf, tennis or football, as well as ton of water sports. The Sant Daniel Valley on the western side of the Gavarres hills has mountain biking and hiking paths with stunning views. If you are looking for a cultural activity, the Archaeological Museum in Banyoles is housed in a Gothic palace and has displays of paleontology and pottery as well as archaeology. Modern art lovers must not miss the Theatre Museum in Figueres which has a collection of Salvador Dali's paintings. And if you are not traveling with kids, and love the night life, Lloret de Mar, is the spot for you!
