Mallorca, Llubí, Spain

Mallorca is just a short flight (1hr/200km) from Barcelona, and is one of Spain's Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. It's known for it's beach resorts, coves, limestone mountains and Roman and Moorish remains. Capital Palma has nightlife, the Moorish Almudaina royal palace and 13th-century Santa María Catedral. Stone-built villages include Pollença, with its art galleries and music festival, and hillside Fornalutx, surrounded by citrus trees.

Mallorca is also known for it's deserted white sand beaches, mountain ranges.  Mallorca also has beautiful architecture of historic buildings, fields of flowers to citrus trered boat to really explore.

Serra de Tramuntana

One of my favorites for me is to start at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Serra de Tramuntana, the western backbone of the Island that offers steep mountain scenery set against a Mediterranean backdrop.

Cala Deià

My favorite beach, is Cala Deià , which has one of the most beautiful inlets on Mallorca’s entire coastline with the clientele to match.

Deià, a village that has been home to Mick Jagger, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Richard Branson and poet Robert Graves who is also buried there. Cala Deià is small (200m wide), it's not a sandy beach, but the water is crystal clear, and the atmosphere is lively and friendly.

Fornalutx Village

Located in Serra de Tramuntana this village, Fornalutx was twice elected Spain’s most beautiful. Fornalutx is surrounded by fragrant orange and lemon groves set against a mountain backdrop.

There is a small main square that is decorated with immaculately presented pavement cafes.

Son Marroig and Monestir de Maramar

As you drive back down south, take the coastal route to Son Marroig and Monestir de Miramar on the way. Both former residences of the Habsburg Archduke Ludwig Salvador (who fell head over heels with Mallorca) and both open to the public for a few euros entry, it’s undoubtedly the views and the houses of what dreams are made of, particularly from the marble temple at Son Marroig which is now a popular venue for weddings and acoustic concerts.

Palma

From village to city, capital Palma is Mallorca’s only real city and It's worth at least a day of visit. The town shares many characteristics with Barça – a Gothic Cathedral that has received the Gaudi touch, with refurbished old buildings, mazed shopping streets, gardens with fountains, art museums and an impressive city beach.

There is endless marina front and visiting cruise ships is the Castell de Bellver. In a wooded hilltop just west of the City, this 14th century fortress is immaculately conserved and built in circular design. Climb up to the rooftop for the most peaceful, beautiful views . A little side note: On Sunday it's free!

The wine route

There are 60 plus bodegas, scaling the countryside to a hilltop monastery. The same route also has 22 beautiful golf courses.

Puerto Pollença

A drive from Palma in the south to Puerto Pollença in the north takes about 45-50 minutes. A 15 minute ride will get you to the beach resort of Cala Millor , which is on the Island’s east coast. If sailing is your thing, then you might be interested in Vita Bel charters
