MONACO

Updated: Dec 3, 2022

Monaco

If you want to have that "Regal experience" with a price tag to match, then this is the place for you. Monte Carlo is located in Monaco, which is the second-smallest country in the world, with a total area of about 0.78 sq. mile/500 acres, yet it's the most expensive place to live!

Monaco does not collect capital gains taxes and does not levy net wealth taxes, hence why so many uber rich live there!

Near the quarter's western end is the world-famous Place du Casino, the gambling center which has made Monte Carlo "an international extravagant display and reckless dispersal of wealth". It is also the location of the famous Hôtel de Paris, Café de Paris and Salle Garnier (the casino theatre which is the home of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo). The quarter's eastern part includes the community of Larvotto with Monaco's only public beach, as well as its new convention center the Grimaldi Forum), and the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. At the quarter's eastern border, one crosses into the French town of Beausoleil , and just 8 kilometers (5 mi) to its east is the western border of Italy.

Upon our arrival, we immediately felt like royalty. Cruising on the Mediterranean Sea/French Riviera, eating some amazing seafood, a bit of shopping, got lucky at the casino, and living out a few days of the "rich and famous".

Our first day was spent on the Mediterranean sea with wild child charters.

Captain Ben and his chief mate Ophellia were the best! They had a vast knowledge of the area, along with healthy food options for lunch. We were toured along Cap Saint Jean Ferrat, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Eze, Cap d’Ail, which were all equally beautiful. We had a chance to jump off the boat for a swim, as well as paddle boarding. It was a perfect day of yummy food, taking in all the beauty and extreme wealth!

Eze

One of our best day spent was at the amazing La Chèvre D'Or, located in Eze which is a luxury hotel on the French Riviera with a Michelin rated restaurant that is excellent, but pricey! The views of this magical place is some of the best I've seen. From the open air museum, unique panoramic views of the Cote d'Azur, to the luxurious rooms full of history, luxury suites, and we can't forget the amazing food served fresh every day! This place is special for sure!

While in Eze, we could not pass up the opportunity to visit Fragonard Parfumeur , one of the many fragrance factories in this region. We were taken on a tour of how perfume was made, went through a series of smelling all different scents, and had a chance to make our own fragrance (need to book in advance). This trip was definitely all about "champagne wishes and caviar dreams"
